Monitoring Access Optimizers
OptiCop Convergers are out-of-band, high bandwidth,
any-to-any monitoring access optimizers that provide optimization and grooming for legacy and converged
monitoring applications. They offer GigE monitoring tools
such as Sniffers, Performance Management Probes, Lawful Interception Systems,
Security/NAC devices, Traffic Analyzers, and Bulk Data Recorders
real-time test access to SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and T-Carrier/E-Carrier
networks at the physical and logical interface layers. Multiple
SONET/SDH POS, ATM, TDM, or T-Carrier/E-Carrier inputs are translated
in real time into standard or proprietary GigE traffic
outputs at full line bandwidth without loss of data.

The OptiCop Converger performs interface and media
conversions, traffic aggregation, multicasting, load balancing,
filtering, switching, and routing of IP, Packet/Cell, and TDM traffic.
All functions can be performed from WAN or LAN inputs to LAN or WAN
outputs. Its flexible interfaces, unique traffic handling capabilities,
high port density, and powerful parallel processing functions set a new
standard for monitoring access to converged IP networks.
The OptiCop Converger product family includes the
following monitoring access optimizers:
OptiCop POS Convergers
The OptiCop P-Series Convergers access POS traffic carrying
PPP/IP, cHDLC/IP, MPLS/IP, and other protocols on a range of line speeds. The Series is available in three models. The P1200 and P2400 models support traffic on OC3/STM-1,
OC12/STM-4, and OC48/STM-16 full-duplex lines while the P4400 model supports traffic on OC3/STM-1 through OC192/STM-64 full-duplex lines.
OptiCop ATM Convergers
The OptiCop A-Series Convergers access ATM traffic carrying
PPP/IP, cHDLC/IP, MPLS/IP, and other protocols on OC3/STM-1 and
OC12/STM-4 full-duplex lines. The A-Series optionally support Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA)
and can access NxT1/E1 streams within a SONET/SDH payload. T1/E1 streams can also be accessed
via discrete T1/E1 interfaces on an optional T-Carrier/E-Carrier daughter-board.
OptiCop TDM Convergers
The OptiCop T-Series Converger supports access to all
channelized streams of the SONET/SDH and T-Carrier/E-Carrier virtual
tributary hierarchy from OC192/STM-64 to DS0. The T-Series support grooming functions for
Broadband, Wideband, and Narrowband applications and can be optionally equipped with discrete
T1/E1 interfaces on either the access- or monitor-facing ports.
OptiCop GigE Convergers
The OptiCop E-Series Convergers support a wide
range of GigE to GigE access and monitoring applications. They are used for
aggregation, load balancing, filtering, multicasting, and routing of IP
packets based on addresses, ports, protocol types, and other
protocol-specific filter criteria. The Series is available in four models. The E1200 and E2400 models support traffic on GigE lines while the E4400 and E6400 models support traffic on both 10GigE and GigE lines.
